Loads of people say no to racism at the Toyosi Shitta-bey rally

Monday, April 12th, 2010

The rally and march to the dail in memory of Toyosi Shitta-bey was a well attended affair. The opinions of the speakers were as varied as the groups that attended.

One of the common treads amongst the local Tyrrelstown speakers was  that they wanted to impress on people that the murder of Toyosi was not a typical event and that Tyrrelstown was not a particularly racist area. My apologies to the first speaker for missing your name and the start of the speech but heres a podcast of what I got.

Ciarán Cuffe of the Green party speaking as a representative of the minister for integration Mary White certainly talked the talk on her behalf, will she walk the walk? We shall see.

Apparently Enniscorthy was missing its idiot for the day.  Bye
