Paul Barry is dead.
Paul Barry who was due to stand trial for the murder of Toyosi Shittabey died last Sunday. Barry was due to appear in court in relation to the murder of Toyosi Shittabey on Monday.
The Evening Herald which broke the story mentioned that Barry was close to a 20-year-old nephew of his who had died on Saturday morning which reads like his death was a suicide but that is just speculation.
Shortly after the story of Paul Barrys death broke journalist and Yahoo editor Brian Whelan confirmed via twitter that Barry was not only involved in the similar racist stabbing ten years prior to the Stabbing of Toyosi Shittabey but had been convicted for it. Mr Whelan had interviewed the family of the victim of the earlier stabbing but could not release the information regarding Paul Barrys conviction for the Pearse street stabbing as it may have given Barry grounds to claim that he could not get a fair trial if the jury knew of a previous conviction for an identical attack.
Paul Barrys brother Michael Barry has still to stand trial for his part in the killing of Toyosi Shittabey.

Toyosi killers charged with murder.
Paul Barry and Michael Barry who had previously been charged with manslaughter following the stabbing to death of 15 year old Toyosi Shitta-Bey in Tyrellstown last good Friday have been charged with murder. Scumbag Michael Barry is reported to have said “absolute rubbish” to the charges.
The charge of manslaughter against Paul Barry has been struck out while his brother Michael is facing both manslaughter and murder charges. Given the difficulty in getting a murder conviction here in Ireland I would hold the dropping of the manslaughter charge as a as a significant indicator of both the weight of evidence against Paul Barry and the nature of the incident.
The DPP has not yet brought any charges against the Barry brother’s relating to any racist element of the killing.
Paul and Michael Barry are being held in custody and will be back in court in next Tuesday.

Stormfront Ireland is dead! for the moment at least…
Stormfront Ireland, Ireland’s premier Neo Nazi and white nationalist racist hate site has been suspended by stormfront moderators since last June. With all of the talk of graves and dancing over the last week I thought a headstone would be appropriate.
This has some major implications for my Stormfront Ireland post of the month competition. With no posts since last June I may have to select my idiot of the year from the existing winners. There is a prestigious yet inexpensive prize at stake here so I will not be hasty in making a decision on this matter, the responsibility of the whole thing weighs heavily on my shoulders

Loads of people say no to racism at the Toyosi Shitta-bey rally
The rally and march to the dail in memory of Toyosi Shitta-bey was a well attended affair. The opinions of the speakers were as varied as the groups that attended.
One of the common treads amongst the local Tyrrelstown speakers was that they wanted to impress on people that the murder of Toyosi was not a typical event and that Tyrrelstown was not a particularly racist area. My apologies to the first speaker for missing your name and the start of the speech but heres a podcast of what I got.

Speakers in this clip from before the march to the dail are Eric Yao of the Africa centre , Rosanna Flynn of Residents against racism, Summy Wong of the United Chinese association of Ireland and Maurice Hurley principle of Tyrrelstown Educate together primary school.

Ciarán Cuffe of the Green party speaking as a representative of the minister for integration Mary White certainly talked the talk on her behalf, will she walk the walk? We shall see.

There is a good photo diary of the event over on indymedia if my modest offering isn’t enough.

Todays newspaper coverage of racist murder of schoolboy in Dublin
Some of todays newspaper coverage of the murder of 15 year old Toyosi Shittabey, Its looking like it was a racist attack from these reports. I imagine I will have a lot to say about this later. I recommend having a look at the goombeennation post on the matter also, the comments are particularly interesting as it seems that this is not the first racist stabbing that the murderer has been involved in.
My condolences to the Shittabey family.
